Zatoichi (the one directed by Shintaro Katsu)
Like many Zatoichi movies, it's kind of slow in spots, but there's some sick-ass violence and even a little nudity.
Zatoichi, the sword-wielding blind yakuza masseur, wanders into another town to see an old friend. Again, Zatoichi runs afoul of the local gangsters. Once again, Ichi has to kill a lot of people.
No, it's not the most original storyline of all time, but some of the gore is pretty damn sweet. In one fight, Ichi chops off some guy's nose, and it sort of slides down the wall. There's a lot of spraying blood in this movie.
Anyone familiar with the Zatoichi series will recognize a few moments from other films. The old letting-the-dice-fall-out-of-the-cup trick, for example, is as old as the first Zatoichi film. There's also the rolling-into-battle-in-a-barrel bit and the scene where some kids try to warn Ichi away from a hole in the path ahead of him but he doesn't believe them, both of which were in earlier entries in the series.
Also, the movie has a sort of a theme song, and it's in English, and it's hilariously bad. It's like something out of a bad American action movie from the eighties.
