Isola: Persona 13

Dull, predictable, and silly. Japanese horror at its most typical.

After the big earthquake of 1995, a psychic girl joins the relief efforts in Kobe. I think she has amnesia or something, but I'm not sure. While she's in town, she runs into a schoolgirl with multiple personality disorder. Anyone who angers this girl has a tendency to die in some strange way, like drowning in a toilet or stabbing themselves in the neck with a bunch of shish kebob sticks. As it turns out, one of this girl's personalities is an outside force. It has something to do with out-of-body experiences and sensory deprivation.

The characters are not terribly interesting. The story occupies varying degrees of silly and boring. None of the scare scenes really have any impact. There isn't much in the way of suspense. However, the part where the guy shish kebobs his own neck is pretty cool. Outside of that, the movie sucks.
